The USA Today feature highlights a recent clinical study published in the Journal of Wound Care co-authored by Dr. Imaze Marian Davis, Lavior’s Chief Medical Officer (Bae SHS et al., J Wound Care 2025;34(Sup7):S5–S12). The randomized trial compared Lavior’s botanical hydrogel with a standard hydrogel in 65 patients with diabetic foot wounds over six weeks.
What the study found:

Lavior’s hydrogel performed comparably to the standard hydrogel (non-inferior). The difference in wound area reduction was not statistically significant.

Participants using Lavior’s hydrogel reported significantly less pain and better foot-related quality of life.

Closure times were similar in both groups. Four of the six authors are affiliated with Lavior.
