Raised in Union City, New Jersey, Dr. Barreto graduated with Honors from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 1992 and was awarded the Pi Delta National Podiatry Honor Society Academic, Pi Delta National Podiatry Honor Society Service, and The Dr. Herbert Shain Memorial Scholarship Awards. He furthered his education by obtaining his MSN and Adult-Gerontology Primary Nurse Practitioner license. Today, Dr. Barreto is the Wound Care Program Director for Select Specialty Hospitals in Miami, Florida, and trains podiatric residents across the Country. He is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP), the American Podiatric Medical Association (APMA), and board certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
