Dr. Janet Mackenzie is the Founder and Chief Medical Officer of Mackenzie Wound Care Experts LLC and has over 20 years’ experience as a provider in the field of wound care. She has practiced in skilled nursing settings as well as in hospital settings, clinics, and private practice. As a knowledge leader and educator, she has trained hundreds of providers in essential wound care competencies and helped them achieve more successful patient outcomes. Dr Mackenzie currently works as a wound care educator, subject matter expert, and program consultant. She is a frequent conference speaker and author as well as Senior Medical Advisor for Cemag Care.

After obtaining a master’s degree in education at the University of Pittsburgh, she completed her medical education at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine. Dr. Mackenzie trained in general surgery at the Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center and plastic surgery at McGill University. She holds board certification from the American Board of Wound Management, the American Board of Plastic Surgery, and the American Academy of General Physicians.
