Healing a Year-Long Venous Leg Ulcer – Dr. Imaze Marian Davis, CMO
Chief Medical Officer Dr. Imaze Marian Davis presented the case of a 60-year-old male with a history of hypertension, prostate cancer, and high cholesterol, who had lived with a chronic venous leg ulcer for more than a year.
The ulcer measured 14.5 x 7.0 cm at initial evaluation and was painful, deep to subcutaneous tissue, and resistant to standard treatments. Despite saline cleansing and topical ointments, the wound showed little improvement.
Through expert wound care guided by Dr. Davis and the consistent use of Lavior Wound Gel, the wound began to progress toward healing — with reduced pain, healthier tissue growth, and renewed hope for recovery.
Healing a 97-Year-Old’s Exposed Hardware Wound – Dr. Dmitry Sandler, Scientific Advisory Board
Dr. Dmitry Sandler, esteemed member of Lavior’s Scientific Advisory Board, presented a case involving a 97-year-old female who developed a chronic wound with hardware and tendon exposure along her lower leg.
The patient’s condition stemmed from a traumatic fracture over 40 years ago, surgically repaired with internal hardware. In recent years, she developed a chronic, non-healing wound that persisted despite conservative treatment.
After surgical intervention and the application of Lavior Wound Gel, the wound demonstrated robust granulation tissue formation, absence of infection, and significant closure within just three months — a remarkable achievement in such a high-risk, elderly patient.
